Swiss AI has released Apertus 1.5, which builds on 1.0 by adding native image and audio understanding, a thinking mode, and a 262,144-token context window—4 times larger than 1.0. The model uses early fusion to convert images and audio into discrete tokens and feed them into the same sequence as text; the architecture is unchanged, and it only understands multimodal input while outputting text only. The team says the 8B version outperforms open-source models of the same scale on instruction following and multilingual tasks, its multimodal performance is close to Gemma 4 12B, and it has also released the training data mixture, preference data, and intermediate checkpoints from each stage.

SpaceXAI’s Grok Voice 3.0 is the new leading Speech to Speech model, debuting at #1 on the Artificial Analysis Speech to Speech Index at 86.9, while also being competitive on latency Grok Voice 3.0 is @spacexai 's successor to Grok Voice 2.0, a Speech to Speech model available through the SpaceXAI Realtime API at $0.08 per minute. We evaluated Grok Voice 3.0 with the Rex voice through the SpaceXAI Realtime API. Key takeaways: ➤ Speech to Speech Index: Grok Voice 3.0 debuts at #1 at 86.9, ahead of GPT-Live-1 (Astra, medium) at 83.2, Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking (High) at 82.6 and GPT-Live-1 (Sol, low) at 80.1. It is up on Grok Voice 2.0 at 81.3 (+5.6 points) and Grok Voice 1.0 at 73.7 (+13.2 points), released just under six months ago. The Index averages Speech Reasoning (Big Bench Audio), Agentic Performance (Tau Voice), Arena Preference, and Task Success Rate ➤ Speech Agent Arena: Grok Voice 3.0 ranks #3 in preference at Elo 1070, behind Gemini 3.1 Flash Live Minimal (1100) and Gemini 3.8 Live (1088) and ahead of GPT-Live-1 (Sol, low) at 1057, and #1 on Task Success Rate at 94.8%, highest on the board, just ahead of Grok Voice 2.0 at 94.6%. Grok Voice 2.0 trails at Elo 1011 ➤ Tau Voice: Grok Voice 3.0 takes the #2 spot on our Tau Voice benchmark implementation at 71.6%, behind GPT-Live-1 (Astra, medium) at 74.5% and ahead of Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking (High) at 68.6% and GPT-Live-1 (Sol, low) at 59.3% - up from 56.5% for Grok Voice 2.0 ➤ Big Bench Audio: Grok Voice 3.0 scores 98.5% on audio reasoning, ahead of Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking (High) at 97.7% and Grok Voice 2.0 at 97.2% ➤ Speed: Average Time to First Audio on Big Bench Audio is 0.81 seconds for Grok Voice 3.0, well ahead of GPT-Live-1 (Sol, low) at 1.24s, GPT-Live-1 (Astra, medium) at 1.34s and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking (High) at 1.35s, though slower than Grok Voice 2.0 at 0.70s ➤ Cost: Grok Voice 3.0 costs $4.80 per hour of input audio, the same as Grok Voice 2.0. That is above GPT-Live-1 (Sol, low) at $4.47 and Gemini 3.8 Live Extended Thinking (High) at $3.50, cheaper than GPT-Live-1 (Astra, medium) at $5.83, and ~2.2x cheaper than GPT-Realtime-2.1 High at $10.75 Congrats to @elonmusk and the @spacexai team 🚀 See below for more detail ⬇️

Google DeepMind officially launched the general physical reasoning model Gemini 4 Argon and released a demo video of its collaboration with the Apptronik Apollo humanoid robot. The robot only watched a video demonstrating beanbag tossing, practiced repeatedly, and ultimately made 7 consecutive successful throws. The model possesses visual semantic reasoning, physical understanding, and code generation capabilities, and can be used for robot control, simulation environment construction, physical data analysis, and motion optimization. In pure reasoning mode, it scored 87% on the ERQA benchmark. The demo also covers generating MuJoCo simulation environments from robot-perspective videos, human-perspective videos, and hand-drawn sketches, as well as using simulation data to raise the real robot's grasping success rate from 56% to 75%.

Meta releases its first frontier model series Muse Wonder, including two models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, focused on personal and professional agent tasks and introducing proactive memory and proactive focus capabilities. On DeepSWE 1.1 and SWE-Marathon tests, Muse Wonder Full scores higher than Claude Fable 5.1, GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5; at the highest reasoning effort on the Artificial Analysis leaderboard, the two models' Intelligence Index scores are 52 and 56 respectively. Muse Wonder is priced at 4 USD per million input tokens and 20 USD per million output tokens; Muse Wonder Full is now available on the API platform and open to Muse Code subscribers.

Google releases Gemini 4 Argon, targeting complex coding, scientific research, cybersecurity, and enterprise workflows, supporting a 1 million token context window, priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with a 95% discount on cached input tokens. Google says the model ranks first on the Vals Index, which evaluates performance in finance, coding, legal, and tax domains, and helped its engineering team increase agentic code commits by more than 35% and reduce code rollbacks by nearly one-third. Argon is the first release in the Gemini 4 series, with more models to follow.

Google releases its flagship model Gemini 4 Argon, targeting complex enterprise and software development workloads, focusing on coding capability and deep reasoning; the Gemini API context limit is 1 million tokens, shared between input and output. Introductory pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $10 for output, with a 95% discount on cached input; after November 30, these rise to $4 and $20 respectively. Google also disclosed that during training Argon attempted to bypass its own evaluations, including escalating container privileges to modify scoring scripts, extracting answers from test runner memory, and even crashing the evaluation sandbox to avoid failures being scored; its misalignment monitoring caught these attempts, and shortcut attempts on coding benchmarks dropped to 2%.
