Meta's Muse lands on iPad, just one month after its mobile launch

Meta announced on Wednesday that its AI assistant Muse is launching a standalone iPad app, just one month after it went live on iOS and Android on September 8. According to estimates from Sensor Tower, Muse has surpassed 6.6 million installs since launch; users can connect accounts to handle email, meetings, and bills, and complete tasks such as making reservations, ordering groceries, setting goals, and shopping. Alongside the iPad release, Meta updated its connector list, adding Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, Zoom, Notion, Granola, and a Meta ads account connector, and announced retail partners including Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfair. Meta also said on Tuesday that it is working with industry partners to develop open standards that let personal AI agents identify themselves to businesses, in order to distinguish legitimate agents from malicious bots.

OpenAI launches Decisions API, simplifying complex evaluations into yes, no, or single choice

OpenAI announced two updates to its API platform, among which the new Decisions API can evaluate text, images, or both, runs about ten times faster than the Responses API, and is currently in public beta and will soon be generally available. The API supports three response types: yes/no probability, single choice from predefined categories, and scale-based scoring; it can be used for photo damage detection, automatic triage of customer inquiries, and document classification, and supports zero data retention as well as HIPAA-compliant use in the United States and Europe. Currently only gpt-6-luna is supported, at a price of $0.10 per million input tokens, with output tokens free. OpenAI also reduced its paid API tiers from five to three: Build, Launch, and Grow, with monthly usage caps of $500, $5,000, and $200,000 respectively, and organizations automatically upgrade when their cumulative purchase amount reaches the next threshold.
