Unitree's Wang Xingxing Says Physical AI May Reach a Critical Point Within One to Two Years; H2-X Robot Makes Its Debut
At the 2026 World Physical AI Conference and Unitree Partner Ecosystem Conference, Unitree Technology CEO Wang Xingxing said that the world's faith in AI is still not enough, that physical AI has already shown signs of being broken through, and that this is very likely to happen in the next one to two years. He also said that we are moving toward the ChatGPT moment of embodied intelligence, that is, in 80% of unfamiliar scenarios, robots can complete about 80% of tasks according to voice or text instructions. He revealed that GPT-6 has achieved zero-training deployment onto Unitree robots and can complete tasks such as autonomous drawing, playing chess, and finding kitchen tools. This year Unitree is conducting preliminary research on Physical AI Robot Self-Evolution V1.0, relying on stronger foundation models, multi-source data, more real-machine deployments, and skill ecosystem expansion to form a loop from perception to evolution. Unitree's new humanoid robot H2-X, released online yesterday, made its first appearance today; the company says its maximum battery life is about 8 hours; since its release in May 2024, the Unitree G1 has cumulatively rolled off the production line at about 10,000 to 20,000 units.
