The Evolution of Qwen: From 7B to 2.4T, a Full Retrospective of Alibaba's AI Model Series

Alibaba Cloud's Qwen series began with Tongyi Qianwen in April 2023, open-sourced Qwen-7B in August 2023, launched the first Qwen3-Max-Preview with over 1 trillion parameters in September 2025, and ultimately evolved to an open-weight model with 2.4 trillion parameters. In 2024, three generations—Qwen1.5, Qwen2, and Qwen2.5—were released in succession; Qwen2.5's pre-training data grew from 7 trillion to 18 trillion tokens, and model downloads exceeded 40 million. In 2025, Qwen3 adopted a hybrid thinking mode, covering 119 languages, and Qwen3-Next-80B-A3B claims training costs of only 10% of Qwen3-32B and 10x higher inference throughput above 32K tokens.

AI "Takes Over" the Digital Trade Expo: Wang Xingxing Discusses Millimeter-Level Errors in Robots, Anheng Information Demonstrates "Using AI to Counter AI"

The 5th Global Digital Trade Expo was held in Hangzhou. Wang Xingxing, founder of Unitree Robotics, stated that fine manipulation by robots involves errors of a few millimeters that cannot be automatically corrected, and that whoever solves the millimeter-level error problem of alignment in the physical world will essentially solve the core challenge of robotics. Anheng Information exhibited "Hengnao," China's first AI-native code audit agent, and "Lieying," the world's first AI-native honeypot capable of capturing autonomous attacks by AI Agents, turning "using AI to counter AI" into deliverable products.

Ant Ling Open-Sources Ling-3.0-tiny: 7.9B Total Parameters, 1.3B Activated Parameters

Ant Ling has officially open-sourced Ling-3.0-tiny, a native hybrid reasoning model with 7.9B total parameters that activates only 1.3B parameters during inference, available in BF16, FP8, and INT4 versions. The company says it scores 25 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and 16 on the Agentic Index, with output speed exceeding 160 tokens/s. The model can run FP8 inference on a single NVIDIA DGX Spark with weights of about 7.85GB, and has been adapted for local execution on Apple Silicon MacBook and Mac mini.

Arm China releases "Linglong" V560/V760 VPU IP for AI applications, codenamed "Emei"

Arm China has released its new-generation VPU IP "Linglong" V560/V760 (codenamed "Emei"), which supports 4K60FPS encoding or 8K30FPS decoding on a single core, with single-core decoding performance improved by 100% over the previous generation. The product supports mainstream codec standards such as H.266, and at the same bitrate its encoding quality improves by an average of 20%. It has completed authorization for its first batch of customers, and customer products are expected to enter mass production successively this year.
