Jie Junyuan, former head of the embodied intelligence department at Qianxun Intelligence, has founded gi labs (General Intelligence Lab) in North America, focusing on embodied data collection devices such as motion capture gloves, multi-camera rigs, and robotic grippers. Its integrated data collection headset EGO1GS is equipped with 1080p binocular cameras, a field of view of 157H 84D, and a sampling frequency of about 400Hz, twice that of the previous generation. The new-generation collection device is still in the prototype stage and is expected to enter mass production in early November, starting at 3555 yuan per set, or 3150 yuan/set for orders of 1000 sets or more, with the frame rate increased to 60fps.

The 2026 Global Developer Pioneer Conference and International Embodied Intelligence Skills Competition was held from October 23 to 25 at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Science Hall, renovating a 2,000-square-meter venue to create a permanent embodied intelligence scenario training space. Schaeffler's Embodied Intelligence Robot Digital-Intelligent Factory Opens in Taicang

On October 20, Schaeffler's Embodied Intelligence Robot Digital-Intelligent Factory was officially opened in Taicang, covering a total area of approximately 7,500 square meters and integrating an intelligent assembly production line, a scenario-based training and data collection center, a digital twin platform, and a computing power center. The core intelligent assembly production line was independently designed by Schaeffler and features five major workstations, equipped with six humanoid robots working collaboratively to complete the entire process of bin handling, parts sorting and picking, press-fitting and screw assembly, functional testing, marking, and packaging, producing joint module components including linear and rotary joints, marking the official entry of such components into mass production. Schaeffler stated that in the third quarter of 2026 it won new orders from two Chinese customers, raising its total order volume in the humanoid robot field to 400 million euros.

SenseTime Releases Empirical Study on GPT-6-Astra Embodied Intelligence and the SenseNova-RoboRSI Framework

SenseTime has released an empirical study on GPT-6-Astra's embodied intelligence, covering 12 simulation benchmarks and 8 real robot platforms, and has simultaneously open-sourced the SenseNova-RoboRSI framework and a 27B model whose operating cost is about 1/50 that of GPT-6-Astra. Under a unified protocol (ICL plus up to 10x interaction budget), GPT-6-Astra achieved SOTA on all 12 benchmarks: RoboDojo rose from 27.6% at 1x budget to 81.9% at 10x, DexJoCo reached 87.3% versus the previous SOTA of 40.3%, and the LIBERO benchmark was pushed to saturation. The study also notes that the inference cost for simple tasks such as putting a pen into a pen holder is about $55, and that real robots overheat and wait times are too long; the conclusion is therefore that GPT-6-Astra has largely crossed the threshold of embodied capability, but practical-grade embodied intelligence has not yet arrived.
