Morgan Stanley says Nvidia will depend on AI infrastructure spending for 91.7% of its 2027 revenue

A report released by Morgan Stanley on October 15 estimates that 91.7% of Nvidia's 2027 revenue will come from AI infrastructure demand, the highest share among the companies it covers, above Vertiv's 90% and Broadcom's 81%. The report projects that hyperscale cloud providers and AI cloud service providers will spend $1.58 trillion in 2027, with nearly $700 billion flowing to Nvidia, while SpaceX and AWS together account for about 54% of Nvidia's hyperscale customer revenue. The report also lists risks: 2027 will see the largest cash flow gap in the forecast period, U.S. data centers will face a 32-gigawatt power shortfall by 2028, and data center restrictions have also become a midterm election issue.

AI FinOps ①: Why Traditional FinOps Can't Control AI Costs

A Harness.io survey of about 700 global enterprises shows that 67% of enterprises spend at least $250,000 per month on AI, and 73% of AI projects exceed budget because AI workload costs are hard to predict. The article points out four major reasons why traditional cloud FinOps fails in the AI environment: token-based billing, multi-model environments, rapid model iteration, and the acceleration of code generation and agentic workflows. The survey also shows that 57% of surveyed enterprises encourage employees to use AI without restrictions, and Harness.io estimates that 26% of monthly AI budgets are wasted as a result.

Jim Cramer: Don't rush to chase the AI rebound—watch these four things first

CNBC's Jim Cramer said that although the Nasdaq Composite rose about 1.1% on Monday, it is still too early to conclude that AI data center stocks are safe. He listed four preconditions: improvement in the chart patterns of semiconductor and memory ETFs, hyperscaler earnings confirming AI spending and driving public cloud growth, the end of the midterm elections on November 3, and a successful Anthropic IPO. He also cautioned that an Anthropic listing could siphon funds away from other AI stocks.

Indian Supreme Court proposes hash database and penalty framework to platforms for CSAM regulation

In a 137-page order, the Indian Supreme Court declined to ban children from using social media or impose age-based restrictions, holding that internet access is a fundamental right guaranteed under Articles 21 and 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, while also proposing a regulatory framework for child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSEAM/CSAM). The framework calls for a national database recording hashes and URLs of confirmed content, which could be built on the Sahyog portal, along with supporting processes including manual verification, an independent appeals channel, confirmation of reports within 24 hours, takedown within two hours, and reporting to bodies such as the SJPU. The court also recommended that the government consider fines beyond intermediary liability and the confiscation of revenue earned from disseminating such content through paywalls; the framework has not yet been implemented, and the government must submit an affidavit before the next hearing on December 10 explaining its progress.

Morgan Stanley Releases 2027 AI Capital Expenditure Flow Chart: Nvidia Alone Captures Two-Thirds of S&P 500 Benefits

Morgan Stanley strategists Nick Lentini, Mike Wilson and others released the report "Tracking the $1.6 Trillion AI Money Flow," which for the first time traces hyperscalers' $1.58 trillion in 2027 capital expenditure line by line to specific companies' revenue. The report says AI capital expenditure will drive about 25% of S&P 500 sales growth, of which about two-thirds, or roughly $690 billion, flows to Nvidia, while the other 499 constituents together account for about $339 billion. The report also notes that hyperscalers have disclosed more than $1.1 trillion in lease commitments not yet commenced, which are economically equivalent to debt financing, and projects that 2027 will be the year with the largest free cash flow gap for them.

Microsoft exits Nscale's UK Essex AI data center project over power supply issues

Microsoft has exited UK company Nscale's AI data center project in Loughton, Essex, due to power supply issues, and will no longer serve as the project's anchor tenant. The project was once called by the UK government the country's largest sovereign AI data center and was originally planned to open next year, but UK grid operator UKPN said it would not be able to provide sufficient power until the early-to-mid 2030s at the earliest. Nscale said it remains committed to the project, is exploring alternative power supply options such as on-site generation, and said its long-term partnership with Microsoft is unaffected.
