Gemini Personal Intelligence comes to Android Auto and built-in Google cars
Gemini's Personal Intelligence feature is beginning to roll out to Android Auto; once enabled, it can connect to user data in Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos and Google Search to provide more personalized answers. The feature is entirely opt-in in Gemini settings, and in the coming months it will also arrive on built-in Google cars that run Google's in-car system directly. Karan Daryanani, a senior Google product manager, said the feature's two core capabilities are extracting specific details from emails, photos or saved places in Google Maps, and reasoning across complex sources.

The integration of Google’s Gemini chatbot on Android Auto and cars with Google built-in is getting better today with the rollout of Personal Intelligence. When enabled, Personal Intelligence in Gemini connects the chatbot to users’ data in other Google services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos, and Google Search to provide more personalized and useful responses.
In practice, Personal Intelligence allows Gemini to easily find useful information about upcoming trips while users are driving. With that additional context, Gemini can warn users when their flights are delayed; it can also find them find restaurants that match their tastes based on previous reservations, and more.

Personal Intelligence in Gemini is starting to roll out today on Android Auto, but the experience is completely opt-in in Gemini settings.
