Hugging Face's 14-trillion-parameter Numbat confirmed to be fake
The Hugging Face repository burner22/numbat claims to be a 14-trillion-parameter mid-training checkpoint of Anthropic's next-generation Mythos-class model, but evidence shows it is fabricated. The codename Numbat does indeed come from an unreleased model in the March 2026 Claude Code source code leak, but the uploading account was registered only a week in advance, and an independent review found that some weights were generated by a simple random number generator rather than obtained through training.

Called burner22/numbat with 14Trillion params, claims to be a leaked mid-training checkpoint of Anthropic’s next Mythos-class model. but ofcourse there is strong evidence it is fake.
the name is real, since “Numbat” was an unreleased model codename exposed in Anthropic’s March 2026 Claude Code source leak, but the account was created only a week before the upload, and an independent check found that parts of the weights were produced by a simple random number generator, not by any training.
