Microsoft Teams to launch AI context-aware phishing detection

Microsoft announced that Teams will begin using AI-driven context-aware phishing detection in early November 2026, identifying phishing, social engineering, impersonation, and deception intent, with general availability expected globally in mid-to-early December. The feature analyzes conversation context to detect suspicious behavior that does not contain malicious links or files, primarily covering external first-contact chats; administrators can enable it without any action, and message content will not be retained for model training or other purposes.
