Baidu Search upgrades its AI API, with a minimum of 4.9 yuan per thousand calls, lower than DeepSeek

Beijing News Shell Finance Report (Reporter Luo Yidan) On October 30, Baidu APP announced at a product upgrade briefing that Baidu Search has achieved recursive self-evolution and has fully upgraded its Search AI API, with a promotional price as low as 4.9 yuan per thousand calls, lower than the price of the DeepSeek Search API. At the same time, major upgrades were rolled out around the search box, AI camera, GUI visualization, AI interactive applications and other directions.

Baidu stated that search is moving from "one question, one answer" to "one task, one delivery." Complex questions can be handed to search for multi-step lookup and organization, directly returning verified and summarized conclusions; high-frequency matters can be delivered directly as results, compressing "search—jump—operate" into the shortest path; and matters requiring long-term attention are continuously tracked after user confirmation, with proactive reminders when changes are detected.

At present, this capability covers more than 170 tool scenarios. For example, when parents search for school admission information, search will combine previously recorded information such as the child's grades, home address and boarding preferences, compare commuting, tuition and enrollment policies together, and give more specific school-selection suggestions.

In terms of GUI, the GUI scenario coverage of the search page has increased fivefold, connecting to more than 5 billion resource data from government affairs, livelihood, the central bank and others, covering more than 20 industries, and opening up the ecosystem.

Baidu stated that the high cost-effectiveness benefits from its AI-native four-layer architecture: the content layer gathers more than 80 languages worldwide and a high-quality index of hundreds of billions of entries, with the data credibility rate increased by more than 50%; the engine layer achieves multi-Agent collaborative self-evolution through an online feedback loop, with Baidu Search depositing every real retrieval and user feedback as training signals, continuously flowing back through the "retrieval—feedback—retraining" loop, driving recursive self-evolution of the model and continuously iterating and upgrading without manual intervention, with overall iteration efficiency improved by more than 80%; the architecture layer supports high concurrency and low latency and has high-quality enterprise-level service guarantee capabilities; the application layer supports full-solution access via API, MCP and Skill.
