Intel Showcases Intel 18A Products at CIIE, Unveils Green Power Energy Storage Computing Solution

AI summary

At the 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Intel showcased its third-generation Core Ultra (Panther Lake), third-generation Core (Wildcat Lake), and Xeon 6+ processors built on the Intel 18A process, and unveiled data center infrastructure for agentic AI along with an integrated green power energy storage computing solution. Xeon 6+ is the first data center CPU built on this process, featuring up to 288 efficiency cores and 576MB of L3 cache, with a single chip capable of reliably supporting more than 1,000 agents. The green power energy storage computing solution uses a container design, with each cabin housing 12 standard racks and supporting deployments from 100 kilowatts to several megawatts, with equipment able to enter operation within as little as one week of arrival on site.

Phoenix Tech News (Editor/Song Shumei) On November 5, the 9th China International Import Expo was held in Shanghai. At the event, Intel showcased a series of products based on the Intel 18A process and released data center infrastructure for agentic AI as well as an integrated green power energy storage computing solution.

In terms of process implementation, Intel exhibited the 3rd Gen Core Ultra (Panther Lake), the 3rd Gen Core (Wildcat Lake), and the Intel Xeon 6+ processor codenamed Clearwater Forest, all using Intel 18A (combining RibbonFET and PowerVia technologies). Among them, Xeon 6+, as the first data center CPU using this process, is equipped with up to 288 efficiency cores and 576MB of L3 cache, and a single processor can stably support more than 1,000 agents, aiming to handle the high-concurrency loads of cloud-native and agentic AI.

Facing agentic AI's demand for system collaboration, Intel, together with industry partners, launched an open Agent rack platform specification, incorporating compute, memory, power supply, and cooling into a collaborative rack design. At the same time, addressing the pain points of energy efficiency and deployment cycles in AI infrastructure, Intel launched an integrated green power energy storage computing solution.

The solution adopts a container design; a single computing cabin can accommodate 12 standard racks, supports deployments from 100 kilowatts to several megawatts, and can be put into operation within as fast as one week after the equipment arrives on site, with on-demand expansion supported.
