I just gave Grok @bot a second chance. I'd tried it before, but at first you don't really know what to do with it. There's no guidance, and it's hard to see how to get the most out of it. I've also tried quite a few agents like this, and they all miss the same thing: proactivity. I mean an agent that notices things I wouldn't have and acts on them without me asking. What they offer instead is routines. That's fine, but almost every SaaS and app has that kind of workflow now. It's not what I want from an agent. This time a few things clicked. It can now have its own email address, so it can create its own accounts, or you can forward it a bunch of things to sort. You can share a 1Password vault with it, which makes a lot of sense and opens up a whole new set of automations. And the way it handles approvals is well thought out, so I'm comfortable letting it use my computer for useful local tasks. Not bad overall.
