Aaron Levie: AI agent swarms will reshape cybersecurity defense
Box CEO Aaron Levie believes that once AI models for cyber defense proliferate, the application layer will be able to quickly equip defenders with tools to protect their environments, and that various agent swarms will emerge to scan, detect, protect against and handle the risks enterprises face. He points out that every layer of the security stack—identity, firewalls, network, code scanning, data protection and more—is a huge opportunity, and the only thing lacking is investment in compute; in the future, these agents may consume 1,000 times more tokens than they do now.

Most teams don't know every place Brotli runs in their stack. It's usually a transitive dependency or an OS package, and pip-audit may not flag it yet. Enclave's agents scan your code, cloud and servers and show you exactly where you're exposed. Advisory + free check: https://t.co/n2WDOnYAj9

Body
A good argument for the diffusion of AI models that can be used for cyber defense is that the applied AI layer will be able to quickly arm defenders with the tools necessary to protect their environments.
We are going to see all new types of agent swarms emerge to scan, detect, protect, and process data for all the possible risks that enterprises have.
This is a huge area of opportunity right now for every layer of the security stack across identity, firewall, network, code scanning, data protection, and more. And it’s at least one reason to be optimistic about the balance of offensive and defensive capability.
The only thing missing is likely the amount of compute that will go into this problem. We’ll likely have 1,000X more tokens flowing through these agents than we do today in the future.
