Well this is pretty cool. OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT dot access to iMessage and RCS.

Before now, the proactive agent feature was limited to either Slack or access inside the ChatGPT experience on mobile, desktop, and the web. You needed the main ChatGPT app to interact with your dot.

By popular request, you can now text your dot.

Give it a task to take off your plate or something to keep an eye on, using text, photos, or even voice notes. It will text you proactively with relevant updates.

By expanding the ChatGPT dot agent feature to iMessage and RCS, users will be able to interact with their dot from the Messages app.

In theory, this helps bring ChatGPT dot to the Apple Watch in an official capacity, though we’ll need to test this to be sure. It also opens up new ways to use voice potentially beyond the built-in “calling” simulated capability.

To set it up, tap on your dot’s profile and select ‘Texting’. Your dot has the same context and plugins, wherever you reach it. This doesn’t give your dot or OpenAI access to your other text conversations.
