[Caixin Online] Racing into the final week of October, the world's fastest-growing AI lab Anthropic honored its commitment to list in October, submitting a prospectus to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and planning to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker "ANT."
The other major AI lab company OpenAI announced in September that it would not go public this year; the two had originally announced in June that they were entering the listing process, but now only Anthropic is advancing alone.
Founded five years ago, Anthropic has raised nearly 140 billion yuan from private markets; counting from 2023 when it began generating revenue, its revenue has grown roughly tenfold each year to $16.3 billion in the first half of this year, and it achieved operating profitability in the second quarter. This company, which calls itself an AI lab, has expanded at unprecedented speed; a listing valuation of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion will likely break the IPO record of nearly $1.8 trillion in market value set four months ago by Musk's AI company SpaceX, and place it directly alongside the US tech stock "Mega7" (Google, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla).
