Sina Tech News, October 21 evening — At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference, Jin Yuzhi, Senior Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Yinwang, attended the summit dialogue session and shared his views on the changes in the second half of the intelligentization era and Yinwang's role in the technology ecosystem.

Jin Yuzhi pointed out that three major changes are taking place in the "second half of intelligentization." First, the industry is accelerating its shift from assisted driving to autonomous driving. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of September this year, the installation rate of L2 and above assisted driving has reached 70%. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is conducting L3 autonomous driving access testing in an orderly manner, and the mandatory standard has also been officially released and will be formally implemented starting July 1, 2027. This policy has laid a very good foundation for the development of the entire industry.

Second, autonomous driving places higher demands on safety. In the L2 assisted driving stage, the responsible party in an accident is the driver, but in the L3 and above autonomous driving stage, the safety responsibility is borne by the system. Based on this consideration, Yinwang publicly disclosed assisted driving mileage and safety data to the entire industry at the beginning of this year. Currently, cumulative assisted driving mileage has reached nearly 17 billion kilometers, and safety data comparing assisted driving with human driving is also published on the official website, in order to build better user trust.

Third, autonomous driving will reconstruct a completely new future travel paradigm. Because with the arrival of autonomous driving, travel will be safer and vehicle use more convenient. One can imagine that once autonomous driving is popularized, vehicles will be able to automatically park, automatically charge, automatically wash, automatically pick up and drop off children, automatically buy coffee, and perform other functions, which will reconstruct the way people travel. This is the biggest difference in the second half.

Regarding the question of high industry interest — "How will Huawei's role in the technology ecosystem evolve? How will it coordinate with automakers?" — Jin Yuzhi said: "Since its birth, Yinwang has insisted on being a supplier of incremental components for intelligent connected vehicles, positioning itself as an 'electronic screw,' helping automaker partners build good cars and sell good cars, and not competing with automakers. This positioning has never changed in any way."

He further explained that looking to the future, Yinwang's coordination with the industry is mainly reflected in three aspects: First, bringing high-safety, high-quality smart vehicle solutions to more users. Although we are currently in the assisted driving stage, users are already able to obtain significant value. Taking the seven-day National Day holiday as an example, Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving averaged nearly 80 million kilometers of assisted driving mileage per day, with cumulative mileage of nearly 560 million kilometers over the seven days. Based on strong user demand, Yinwang will provide a richer, more reliable, and more cost-competitive portfolio of smart vehicle solution products through continuous technological innovation and engineering optimization. This year Yinwang's R&D investment will be nearly 20 billion yuan, and it will continue to maintain such high-intensity investment in the future, so that more users can use Yinwang's solutions and enjoy safer and better intelligent travel experiences.

Second, on the basis of deep vehicle intelligence coordination with automaker partners, further expand coordination with industry ecosystem partners. Recently, Yinwang signed a strategic cooperation agreement on battery swapping with CATL and Shidai Dianfu. Vehicles equipped with Qiankun Smart Driving can autonomously locate battery swap stations, enter battery swap stations, and swap batteries, with the entire process completed within 99 seconds. This is a further expansion of intelligent battery swap services by Huawei Qiankun Smart Driving on the basis of having already connected to a million-level charging pile ecosystem. This ecosystem can bring users a better experience and make driving safer and vehicle use more convenient.

Third, move from large-scale application in the Chinese market toward global value co-creation. The healthy and sustainable development of the autonomous driving industry cannot be separated from the deep collaborative construction of global industrial policies, standards and regulations, and application scenarios.
