Xiaomi's open-source AI hardware HachimoDock debuts: DIY cost about 150 yuan
HachimoDock, an open-source AI hardware incubated by the innovative product team of Xiaomi's Technology Committee, made its debut at the 2026 Guanzha Conference, with a DIY hardware cost of about 150 yuan. The device integrates a personalized desktop pet, voice control of PC-side Agents, smart home integration, and custom component creation. Users can collaborate with a Coding Agent in natural language to generate components such as to-do lists, computer status dashboards, and Pomodoro timers, and can also dispatch requests via voice—such as looking up information, organizing files, and writing code—to Agents including Codex and WorkBuddy. The device can connect with Xiaomi MiloCo for voice-based home control. The software source code is now public on GitHub, along with a hardware bill of materials, structural component models, and an assembly tutorial.

Phoenix News Tech (Author/Yun Fei) — On October 26, the 2026 Guanzha Conference was held in Hangzhou from October 24 to 25. HachimoDock, an open-source AI hardware incubated by Xiaomi's Technology Committee Innovative Products Team, made its debut at the conference. The device's hardware self-build cost is about 150 yuan, and it integrates features such as a personalized desktop pet, voice-controlled PC-side Agent, smart home integration, and custom component creation.
According to the on-site introduction, HachimoDock allows users to collaborate with a Coding Agent through natural language to generate and run components usable on the device, covering to-do lists, computer status dashboards, pomodoro timers, weather reminders, mini-games, and more. The device comes with a West Highland White Terrier character built in, and users can also upload pet photos or original characters to customize their desktop pet, and set its name, persona, and voice. Interaction methods include touchscreen, buttons, joystick, and voice, and the keycaps and mechanical switches are replaceable.
In terms of task execution, users can dispatch requests such as looking up information, organizing files, and writing code by voice to PC-side Agents such as Codex and WorkBuddy, while the device screen displays task status in sync and provides progress feedback through the desktop pet's expressions, movements, and sounds. Important operations involving authorization are still confirmed by the corresponding client. In addition, HachimoDock can integrate with Xiaomi MiloCo to enable voice-based home control, and the small screen can switch to a home control console.
Currently, the device's software source code has been made public on GitHub, along with a hardware bill of materials, structural component models, and assembly tutorials. Xiaomi's Technology Committee Innovative Products Team said it hopes to lower the barrier to experiencing AI hardware and let more users experience AI hardware creation at a lower cost.
