Rime has released Prism, a speech-to-speech model for AI voice agents that writes every reply as text before speaking. Enterprises can edit the transcript and block things the agent should not say, while Prism keeps the call uninterrupted and can look up accounts or freeze cards during the conversation. Rime says no other speech-to-speech model takes this approach, making Prism better suited to regulated enterprises such as banks.
Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas announced that the new voice mode is open to all Pro and Max users, covering the web and the Mac app. The mode lets users talk to their computer by voice and advance multiple workflows in parallel.
Cartesia has launched the Managed Agents end-to-end voice agent platform, targeting enterprise call scenarios. On Artificial Analysis's Speech Agent Arena, it ranks first among 30 agents with a preference Elo of 1115. On ServiceNow's EVA-Bench, the platform achieved an accuracy of 87.4% and an experience score of 90.7%, both the highest. The platform co-designs the voice model with the harness, offering capabilities such as 44 languages, tool calling, knowledge bases, and outbound calling batches. The company says it has already supported tens of millions of conversations in finance, retail, hospitality, and healthcare scenarios.

AssemblyAI has released its first text-to-speech model, AssemblyAI-TTS-1, and officially opened it up, targeting real-time telephony voice agents, priced at $15 per million characters, with no annual contracts and no concurrency tiers. The model is offered only as a hosted API in us-east-1 and eu-north-1, supports HTTP, WebSocket and OpenAI-compatible interfaces, and comes with more than 4,000 voices, instant voice cloning and 6 languages. The vendor's own testing shows 93.7% entity accuracy and a median time to first byte of 47 ms, but Cekura's independent benchmark measured 159 ms streaming latency and 81.5% reading accuracy, and at launch it does not yet support SSML, speaking-rate control or emotion tags.

Neuralink's first product is called Telepathy, which can enable high-speed communication with a computer or other people through thought. Elon Musk stated that its output bandwidth will, within a few years, far exceed the fastest human speech or typing speed. The tweet cited a post about Neuralink engineers holding a 72-hour hackathon for a speech restoration research participant, rapidly prototyping multiple thought-communication features.
Ollama can now convert text to speech. Its first speech model is the Phonon series of small text-to-speech models from Gradium. It is currently available on macOS, with Windows and Linux support coming soon. On a MacBook Pro equipped with M5 Max, Ollama, with the help of MLX acceleration, is 35% faster than Gradium's own runtime, and its word error rate is on par with the Hugging Face Transformers reference implementation. Phonon is compatible with OpenAI's /v1/audio/speech interface, so existing OpenAI SDK code only needs to change the base URL; phonon is released under Apache 2.0, and the 40M model uses the CC BY-NC 4.0 license and is for non-commercial use only.

ElevenLabs releases the real-time speech translation model Eleven Realtime Translation, currently available in alpha form to ElevenAPI enterprise customers. The model uses the low-latency speech model Eleven v4 Turbo by default, supports more than 90 languages and automatic language detection, keeps the same voice consistent across languages, and can be selected from a library of more than 17,500 voices or custom voice clones. Teams can adjust the translation startup speed, trading off between high-quality translation and low latency on complex calls; Deutsche Telekom has already built new call features based on ElevenLabs in its Magenta AI Call Assistant.

ElevenLabs has released Eleven Realtime, offering two hosted voice agent models, Mini and Max, which integrate speech recognition, reasoning, turn-taking, and speech generation, but developers cannot individually select or configure the underlying models. Data from external testing organization Artificial Analysis shows that Max scored 98.8% on Big Bench Audio, while Mini scored 75.9%; for tool-calling task completion, Max reached 87.1% and Mini 60.3%, while Mini slightly outperformed Max on Full-Duplex-Bench with 95.8% versus 94.1%. The interface follows the OpenAI Realtime API protocol and WebSocket transport, but only supports WebSocket; WebRTC applications must first switch transport methods and handle the capture and playback of 24kHz PCM16 audio themselves.

Scaled Cognition has released Voice, a text-to-speech model that supports more than 25 languages and voice cloning, and can be accessed via API or deployed self-hosted. It focuses on accurately reading aloud details such as account numbers and addresses. Managed API pricing is $9 per million characters, while self-hosting costs $1 per million characters (excluding infrastructure). The company says that at a scale of 5 million characters, including infrastructure, the cost is about $13 per million characters, and it claims a speech generation latency of 70 milliseconds. Voice's Smart Pronunciation capability first determines the meaning of abbreviations and numbers before generating audio—for example, reading "Pay 1/2 by 1/2" as "pay half by January second"—and it can run without relying on APT or other large language models.

AntLingAGI thanks atomic.chat for integrating Ming-3.0 into local AI workflows, making open-source speech models more accessible. According to atomic.chat, Ming-3.0 comprises 5 open-source models covering speaking, listening, and speech transcription; its speech model ranks No. 1 among open-source models on Artificial Analysis, and the smallest version is only 0.5B.
Ant Ling has open-sourced 5 speech models covering TTS, audio understanding, and ASR, with total parameter counts ranging from 0.5B to 126B (6.5B active parameters). vLLM announced that vLLM-Omni provided Ming-3.0 support on the day of release; Ant Ling thanked them for this and said deployment is now more convenient.
