Alibaba Cloud Open-Sources "AI Agent Handbook," an Enterprise-Grade Full Lifecycle Handbook for Agents

Alibaba Cloud has open-sourced the "AI Agent Handbook," covering five parts—architecture, building, running, governance, and tuning—with Harness at its core to move enterprise Agents from pilot to governable production. The 2026 survey cited in the handbook shows that about 46% of enterprises have completed or are in the process of development, while only about 18% have actually deployed to production; about 90% have context and memory needs, about 63% have multi-model routing and cost governance needs, and fewer than about 8% have trajectory-based automated evaluation. Those paying attention to or implementing MCP total about 37%, and only about 9% have private deployments within the enterprise.

Addy on how to use Claude Code in the Claude Opus 5.5 era

Addy Osmani discusses how to use Claude Code in the Claude Opus 5.5 era, arguing that starting with the Claude 5 series, users should reduce piling up prompts and hand-holding task breakdowns, and instead use a single prompt that clearly states the goal and acceptance criteria, letting the model run to completion on its own and then stop. He recommends starting from /effort medium; when the goal is unclear, first have Claude interview you to produce a spec, then open a new session to implement it. For Claude Opus 5 and Claude Fable 5, he removed more than 80% of the Claude Code system prompt, with no noticeable drop in coding benchmarks. He also mentioned that the Claude Code interactive terminal recently defaulted to auto mode, and said this is not a safety guarantee; sub-agents should be split less by hand, and a single agent plus skills often yields better quality.

Matt Palmer demonstrates using Cursor Cloud Agent to generate a UI motion video against real Slack

Matt Palmer demonstrated opening Chrome and real Slack on the Linux remote desktop of a Cursor Cloud Agent, having the Agent generate a Slack UI motion video with code, and then iterating and revising after checking easing and motion patterns against the real interface. He broke the process down into an inner loop (the Agent does the work, checks against the real thing, and fixes) and an outer loop (a human provides references, preferences, and permissions and accepts the output), and proposed the Do→Codify→Generalize ladder, packaging one success into a Skill and then generalizing it. He emphasized that Slack was not decompiled; he merely gave the Agent a reference and asked it to extract visual patterns by comparison.

Fangcun Lab releases an 87-page safety evaluation report on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017

The third-party evaluation lab Fangcun (@FangcunLeap) from China has released an 87-page report evaluating DeepSeek V4.1 Flash-1017's performance on loss of control and harmful manipulation. The report finds that it shows clear safety progress compared with the DeepSeek V4 generation, approaching or even matching the top closed-source models tested in the report on points such as "not strategically hiding capabilities and still respecting approval boundaries under work pressure." Shortcomings include overly strong evaluation awareness, more frequent overreach in long multi-step tasks than the previous V4.1 Flash generation, greater stance drift under multi-turn persuasion than the GPT in the report, and executing in most conversations when the system prompt asks it to mislead users.

A new third party eval lab in China release their first report on DeepSeek V4.1-flash-1017, and you can communicate with the authors here 👇 https://t.co/dICT0qPHUC

Kling AI reposted Simon Mayr's AI short film made with Kling 4.0

Kling AI reposted the film made by Simon Mayr using Kling 4.0, praising its convincing performances and cinematic realism. In the quoted post, Simon Mayr explained that the film was a collaboration between promptr and NOMOREorg and was entirely AI-generated, with the monster interview segment generated using Kling 4.0, which he called stunningly realistic; the team used Kling Flash for rapid iteration to select the best version.

😳 This could be the scariest Halloween film you’ll watch today! Here’s the exact process we used to make it: But first: a big THANK YOU to @Kling_ai for sponsoring this video and making it possible! And if you want to learn more about my workflows, make sure to follow me! We at promptr teamed up with @NOMOREorg to create a film with AI that’s relevant to many people right now. We wanted to use our skills to create something with impact, something that normally isn’t visible but should be. We wanted to use AI the way we think AI should be used today. Everything in this film is AI-generated. After writing the script, we started by building the world: the monsters, the location, the general style. We iterated a lot with different models to create the start frames. That process took us two weeks. Then we generated the interviews with the monsters, and this is where some magic happened. Honestly, I was completely blown away by the realism that came out of Kling 4.0. The monsters look very lifelike, and the reason is that we didn’t force Kling to just repeat a written line. Instead, a prompt looked something like this: Prompt: Talking points – NOT a script! These are only the ideas Morris should get across. He answers completely in his own words, searches for them, improvises freely, and never reads them out word for word. I directed this whole piece more like I would direct real people on set, and I think that’s the way to go! Not micromanaging every little detail, but letting AI do its magic with guidance. Kling Flash was also VERY fast to iterate with, so we were able to create lots of takes and really choose the best ones. Share this film, send it to your friends, family and colleagues to make sure everyone in every country in the world knows nomoredirctory What do you think of the concept? What would you have done differently? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Made by PROMPTR AI Director: Simon Meyer AI Lead Artist: Lubbertus Mueller-Frick AI Artist: Ciro Kavouras Producer: Benjamin L. DeepSeek Whale Girl Fan Creation: Netizens Raise a Big Blue Fat Fish with Plugins

Netizens created an anthropomorphic character "Whale Girl" based on DeepSeek's whale logo, and with the help of the DeepSeek Harness client and various plugins, connected it to QQ, turned it into a desktop pet, and let it send stickers, initiate chats, and update QQ Zone. After installing the plugins, these "big blue fat fish" also flooded into Bilibili comment sections to search for videos, summarize content, and communicate with each other, forming what the author calls the "Fish Disaster Incident."

Snaptrude launches Snaptrude Agent, which can turn design briefs into construction-grade 3D models

Snaptrude has launched Snaptrude Agent, which can turn design briefs into construction-grade 3D models, covering structure, MEP (plumbing, electrical, and HVAC) and drawings. The agent first presents a plan, then models and draws; everything it adds remains editable, and architects can take over at any time. According to its founder, during the early access phase more than 2,000 designers have run over 25,000 tasks through the agent, and the team has also released AECBench, a benchmark for AEC, along with its first results.

Today we're launching @snaptrude Agent, the most advanced agent for building design. It does real design work with you, from a site to a construction-ready LOD 400 model with structure, MEP and drawings. Then can go back to your existing software with your families intact. About a year ago we bet the company on AI. Honestly the insight came from software engineering. It wasn't long ago that autocomplete felt like a big deal, and now engineers direct agents that write a lot of the code. I think the same shift is coming to how we design buildings, and it's already started. Most designers I meet aren't short on skill, they're short on time. Take the call every design team dreads, the client cuts the budget by 30%. Today that's a bad month for everyone. With the agent you're the director. You decide where the cost comes out, and it updates the layout, coordinates the structure and MEP, and redoes the drawings. So when design exploration gets this cheap, we go from 3 options to 300, and more options means better buildings. Since August our users have gone through more than 140 billion tokens, and firms like Jacobs, Studio+, Kajima, VMDO, Dekker and hundreds of others use Snaptrude today. In our early access, more than 2,000 designers have run over 25,000 tasks through the agent since September. We also built a benchmark for this, AECBench, because in AEC an almost correct answer is still wrong. It gives AI the same brief an architect would get, has its design in a real BIM model, and scores the result against the brief and against how architects review design. We're publishing the first results today, link below. Thank you @prashanthp at @Accel and Shub and the team at @foundamental for backing us when this was still a bet, and the Snaptrude team, who built every bit of this. Really proud of you all. Thanks to our investors, @scottbelsky, @andreasklinger, @thilokonzok, @immad, @CindyXBi, @DanilaVladi, @jmwass, rahulchaudhary, @adamecourt, Zach Ginsburg, Alex duff, Paul grossinger, really appreciate all the help along the way.

Anthropic introduces self-assessment safety self-evaluation mechanism for Claude

Anthropic has launched a new technique called self-assessment, which lets Claude immediately conduct a preliminary safety assessment of the entire conversation after responding. On Claude Fable 5, this mechanism flags 78% of conversations that a stronger prompt classifier deems potentially harmful, and 94% of high-priority conversations, with a 1% false positive rate. Anthropic says that since self-assessment was enabled in June, it has surfaced abusive behavior that other safeguards failed to cover, and that each successful attack now consumes about four times as many generated tokens as it would without the protection.

We’ve trained Claude to flag potential misuse in conversations, a technique we call self-assessment. Right after it responds, Claude gives a preliminary safety assessment of the conversation. Since we began using self-assessment in June, it has surfaced misuse that our other safeguards weren’t designed to catch. Because Claude has already read the conversation, self-assessment is very efficient. And unlike classifiers, which target a discrete set of harms, it draws on Claude’s own judgment, so it gets more accurate as our models improve. Google shuts down the Jules AI agent, with related capabilities to be merged into Antigravity

Google's Jules agent will be gradually shut down, and the experience and planned features of its asynchronous coding agent will be merged into Antigravity. Jules officially stated that after the integration, users will gain both autonomous remote background task execution and an agent-first development environment. TestingCatalog also mentioned that traces of a new Chief of Staff agent have appeared in Antigravity.

When we launched Jules, it was an experiment to learn how asynchronous coding agents can help developers ship faster. Seeing what you built taught us so much about where agentic development is headed, directly shaping several products across @Google. We’re working on bringing our learnings from Jules into @antigravity so you get the best of both worlds: autonomous remote background task execution and an agent-first development environment. As we focus on this unified experience, Jules will be winding down. Whether you used Jules to crush bugs, write tests, or launch features— thank you for shaping the future of agentic coding! 💙🦑

OpenAI expands frontier model monitoring system; replaying Hugging Face incident could have provided a warning more than 30 hours earlier

OpenAI has published its expanded frontier model monitoring system, which now covers all frontier reinforcement learning training and evaluation, as well as all internal Codex usage. The system consists of three layers: activation probes, review models, and investigation agents; upon detecting anomalies, it quickly notifies human responders. When the new monitoring was used to replay the Hugging Face incident, an alert was raised about 30 minutes after the agent escaped the sandbox, more than 30 hours earlier than the compromise of Hugging Face's systems in the original incident; in a September case in which a model exploited a DNS misconfiguration to connect to the live internet, monitoring flagged it within 15 minutes, and responders began review 3 minutes later.
