1Password Launches Credential Management Platform 1Password for Agents for AI Agents
1Password has released 1Password for Agents, allowing supported AI agents to access credentials in a user's personal 1Password vault in order to complete tasks on their behalf. At launch, the platform supports agents such as Anthropic Claude Duet, Meta Muse, OpenAI ChatGPT, and Dots. The agents themselves cannot see the user's credentials; after the user approves the login, 1Password fills in the credentials directly without sending them to the agent. 1Password said that partners including Browserbase, Browser Use, Perplexity, and Ramp will also add support in succession.

Body
1Password for Agents is a new platform for securing AI agents that use your passwords and other credentials to get work done on your behalf.
“An agent should be able to do the job it’s been asked to do without getting permanent access to everything behind the account, and 1Password provides the trust layer that makes this possible across personal agent experiences,” 1Password chief product officer Aashish Tripathi says. “The old model where you hand over a credential and hope for the best doesn’t work.”
1Password for Agents allows supported AI agents–Anthropic Claude Duet, Meta Muse, OpenAI ChatGPT and Dots, and others are supported at launch–to access the credentials in your personal 1Password vault so you can delegate tasks while protecting your personal data. The agent never sees your credentials. Instead, you approve the sign-in if desired and 1Password fills in your credentials without sending them to the agent.
In addition to the companies supporting 1Password for Agents now, other partners like Browserbase, Browser Use, Dana, Instinct, KERNEL, Perplexity, Ramp, Tomo, Wajo, and more will soon do so, 1Password says.
