OpenAI restructures AI model guidelines: focusing on five core values, being faithful to human intent is the core

OpenAI has updated its "Model Spec," making fidelity to human intent the foundation of the framework and requiring models to understand the intentions and value orientations of users, developers, and OpenAI, rather than executing instructions literally. The revised framework also requires models to minimize harm, be transparent about what they know and do not know, and help users make decisions autonomously. OpenAI says current models do not yet fully embody these requirements and that it is exploring new training methods to help models internalize the principles.
