Google announces that Android XR core development tools have reached stable release, supporting Unity, Godot, and Unreal engines

At Android Dev Summit 2026, Google announced that multiple core Android XR development tools have ended their preview phase and entered stable release, including the Jetpack XR SDK core libraries, the Android XR Emulator, and the Android XR Engine Hub. Jetpack SceneCore, ARCore for Jetpack XR, and the XR Runtime core libraries provide official product development APIs and support long-term interface stability and backward compatibility; the emulator allows development and debugging for XR glasses, audio glasses, and display-equipped glasses without physical devices. The stable release of Android XR Engine Hub supports the three major engines Unity, Godot, and Unreal, and can be used to launch performance analysis and view runtime data. On the same day, Google partnered with XREAL to launch the XREAL AURA glasses powered by Android XR.

其中，Jetpack XR SDK旗下的Jetpack SceneCore、ARCore for Jetpack XR和XR Runtime核心库现已进入稳定阶段，为开发者提供适用于正式产品开发的API，并支持长期接口稳定性及向后兼容。Android Studio中的Android XR模拟器也同步进入稳定版本，支持开发者在没有实体设备的情况下，针对XR眼镜、音频眼镜及带显示眼镜开发、调试和测试应用。
面向游戏及沉浸式内容开发，Android XR Engine Hub正式推出稳定版本，支持Unity、Godot和Unreal三大游戏引擎，开发者可以通过该工具启动性能分析、查看运行数据，优化XR应用表现。
此外，Google还扩展了ARCore的地理空间API，支持开发者通过Jetpack XR SDK和Unity，将虚拟内容锚定至真实世界中的特定位置，并结合本地追踪能力开发空间导航、位置相关的信息展示等AR应用。
值得注意的是，Google还在同一天联合XREAL正式推出搭载Android XR系统的XREAL AURA眼镜。随着首款有线Android XR眼镜上市，以及核心开发工具进入稳定版本，Google正进一步完善Android XR的软硬件生态，为开发者将现有应用和游戏扩展至不同形态的XR设备提供支持。
