Anthropic partners with Hg to establish a European AI consulting company

Anthropic has reached an agreement with private equity firm Hg to support a new European consulting organization, expected to officially begin operations before the end of this year, with centers in London and Berlin, mainly serving software vendors targeting enterprise customers and white-collar workers. The new company will station AI consulting advisors and engineers at European enterprises, including portfolio companies invested by Hg funds; engineers will lead the design of new AI products or assist in advancing existing implementation projects. Anthropic will contribute from its own balance sheet funds, while Hg will invest through funds it manages; earlier this year Anthropic, together with Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman, launched a similar independent service company Ode in the US, with planned investment of USD 1.5 billion.

Anthropic已与私募股权公司Hg达成协议，扶持一家全新的欧洲咨询机构。这是这家前沿AI实验室首次布局，打造独立主体，面向欧洲本土企业输出AI专业服务。
消息人士称，新公司将派驻AI咨询顾问与工程师入驻欧洲企业，其中也包括Hg基金投资组合内的被投企业。工程师将主导AI新产品的设计工作，或是协助企业推进现有的AI落地项目。
AI企业下场设立咨询业务，对埃森哲以及德勤、安永、毕马威、普华永道四大会计师事务所等传统IT咨询机构形成新的竞争冲击。这类传统机构依托企业数字化转型咨询业务，收益丰厚。
今年早些时候，Anthropic曾联合黑石、Hellman & Friedman在美国推出类似的独立服务公司Ode，规划投资额15亿美元，高盛、阿波罗全球管理同样参与投资。
其竞争对手OpenAI也在5月联合TPG、Advent、贝恩资本、布鲁克菲尔德设立合资公司OpenAI Deployment Company，以此加速自家AI产品落地。
由达里奥·阿莫代伊创立的Anthropic自2024年起就已和Hg旗下被投企业开展合作，同时也服务其他欧洲私募机构。而这家新咨询公司，是Anthropic首次扶持欧洲本土独立咨询主体。
知情人士补充，Anthropic将以自有表内资金出资；专注软件赛道收购的Hg，则会通过旗下管理基金（含伦敦上市的HgCapital Trust）进行投资。
该咨询机构预计于今年年底前正式运营，在伦敦、柏林设立中心，主要服务面向企业客户、白领群体的软件厂商。消息人士表示，Hg现有一支150人的AI专家团队，负责在被投企业落地AI技术，新业务并不会取代这支团队。
当下市场对AI估值的疑虑不断升温，Anthropic正寻求开辟新收入来源，一方面支撑其在数据中心基础设施上的巨额投入，另一方面为备受瞩目的IPO计划争取市场支持。英国《金融时报》上周报道，该公司三季度收入增速已经放缓。
今年早些时候，AI技术的快速迭代曾引发市场对软件企业商业模式的担忧，板块遭遇抛售；不过随着投资者开始区分不同软件公司的质地，恐慌情绪已有所缓和。近几个月，Hg先后将基金服务机构Gen II以超50亿美元出售给KKR、软件企业Quantios以约4亿英镑卖给Vista Equity Partners。
