xAI Grok now supports China UnionPay and Alipay payments; users report half-price first-month subscription
Grok, from Elon Musk's xAI, now supports payment via China UnionPay and Alipay, and the subscription page's region options include mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. X and Grok share the same payment system, so Alipay can also be used to subscribe to X Premium. Some users report that first-time Grok subscriptions via Alipay get the first month at half price, and linking a bank account for payment also gives $5 cash back, but xAI has not yet issued an official announcement.

IT Home, October 31 news: Some users report that Musk's xAI Grok now supports China UnionPay and Alipay payments, and the region options on the subscription page also include Mainland China, Hong Kong China, Macao China, and Taiwan China. IT Home's check found this to be true.
At the same time, because X (formerly Twitter) shares the same payment system as Grok, everyone can also use Alipay to subscribe to X Premium.
X user @jordan1oi reported that subscribing to Grok for the first time via Alipay offers a half-price discount for the first month. In addition, users who need it can also choose Apple Pay and Google Pay, and paying with a linked bank account will also give $5 cash back (IT Home note: at the current exchange rate, about 33.3 yuan).
However, as of now, no official xAI announcement has been found regarding the above payment methods, region options, and promotional offers.
