In an interview with The Verge, Bill Gates said that people need to prepare for the two decades of disruptive change brought by AI, and that this period could be very painful and may even split society into two camps: those willing to embrace cutting-edge technology and those who reject it. He said that over the past year, AI's progress in writing code, discovering network vulnerabilities, biological reasoning, and disrupting the job market has been astonishing, and he believes there will be losers and winners during the transition before a prosperous era arrives.
