Zeng Yuqun: CATL Uses AI to Screen Thousands of Compounds, Identifying 7 Potential Materials

Zeng Yuqun, founder of CATL, said at the 2026 World Laureates Forum that CATL is also using AI for technological innovation. Based on over 600TB of basic research data and over 1 trillion test records, AI can screen thousands of compounds in a short time and identify 7 potential materials. He also said that current AI capabilities are still far from sufficient and that more scientists and more advanced models are needed.
