Shanghai high school students and top scientists discuss the next decade: the AI group first asks how to verify

On October 30, the 2026 World Laureates Forum · Future Scientists Conference was held at the Shanghai Lingang Center, where about 150 high school students and leading Chinese and foreign scientists discussed "the next decade of scientific breakthroughs." Students in the AI topic group tested whether model outputs could be reproduced by swapping the names in prompts and repeatedly asking the same question, and worried that as code writing and calculations are handed over to machines, people are losing their ability to check the math.
