ICBC-AXA Unveils "Guardian · Zhenxiang" Wellness Living Room, Exploring Shanghai's "Insurance + AI + Elderly Care" Practice

Finance empowers health and wellness, and technology warms silver-haired lives. On October 23, the 2026 Shanghai Silver Economy Technology Industry Week special event—the "Finance Empowering the Health and Wellness Ecosystem" thematic conference—was held in Lujiazui. The event brought together forces from finance, technology, medical and health care, media and other sectors to build a cross-sector collaborative innovation platform and jointly explore new paths for the deep integration of finance, technology and the health and wellness industry. To thoroughly implement the national and Shanghai strategic deployments for developing the silver economy and "AI+", starting in December 2025, with the support of departments including the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, Xinmin Evening News initiated and hosted the Shanghai Silver Economy Technology Industry Week, bringing together resources from government, industry, academia, research, medical and media sectors to build a platform for silver economy technology industry matchmaking, achievement display and ecosystem co-construction, making every effort to promote the implementation of elderly care technology and collaborative innovation across the health and wellness industry chain, supporting the integrated development of "AI + silver economy industry", and coordinating the creation of a "Shanghai sample" for the silver economy technology industry. Finance occupies a foundational supporting and strategic core position in the silver-haired field, and pension finance is precisely one of the "five major articles" in the financial sector deployed by the Central Financial Work Conference. At the event site, ICBC-AXA's "Guardian · Exquisite Enjoyment" Health and Wellness Conference was officially unveiled, and a supporting health and wellness sub-brand was released simultaneously. The health and wellness reception hall is located on the 30th floor of the ICBC Building and is a health and wellness-themed exhibition hall unique to the insurance industry that integrates policy promotion, health and wellness service display and cutting-edge technology interaction. The exhibition hall is planned into four major functional sections: the Time Corridor, the Brand Display Area, the Service Experience Area and the Frontier Outlook Area. Relying on diverse forms such as graphic and textual displays, multimedia presentations, health testing and age-friendly model rooms, it centrally presents three core scenarios—health management, medical assistance and home-based elderly care—creating a perceptible, experienceable and interactive real-life space for future health and wellness, allowing visitors to intuitively experience the implemented results of the integration of insurance health and wellness services and age-friendly technology. Six industry representatives—Zhang Xiaobing, Chairman of Lijun Think Tank; Peng Zeyu, Researcher at the Health and Wellness Research Institute of East China University of Science and Technology; Xing Kai, Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China; Zhang Qi, Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer of ICBC-AXA Life; Wu Tao, Vice President of Meinian Onehealth Group; and Tang Keliang, CEO of Beyond Imagination Artificial Intelligence—held a discussion around "finance empowering the health and wellness industry", focusing on topics such as the implementation of digital and intelligent health and wellness, community elderly-care financial support, difficulties in investment and financing of silver economy technology innovation projects, the creation of a closed loop of "health management + insurance protection", and industry platform matchmaking mechanisms. They expressed their views and formed multiple consensuses: health and wellness finance should shift from traditional post-event compensation to pre-emptive risk intervention based on health data; given the characteristics of long project cycles and difficult scenario verification for silver economy technology projects, differentiated financial tools matched to different stages are needed; industry development cannot be separated from multi-party collaboration among policy, finance, scientific research, health services and scenario platforms, so as to connect the entire chain from technology research and development and community pilots to industrialization.
