Google Gemini has launched a file editing feature. Users can directly generate, preview and modify PDFs, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Slides, Markdown, TXT and code files within a conversation. The feature is available to all Gemini users starting today. PDF preview and editing are supported on both web and mobile, while the other formats are currently limited to web. Users can open documents in full screen to edit them, select text to ask Gemini questions or have it modify content, for example converting a selected table into a chart.

IT之家 10 月 30 日消息，现在用户可以直接在谷歌 Gemini 内生成、预览并编辑 PDF、谷歌文档、谷歌表格、幻灯片、Markdown 文件、TXT 文本以及代码文件。这项全新的文件编辑功能从今日起面向所有 Gemini 用户开放，其中 PDF 的预览和编辑功能同时支持网页端与移动端，其余所有文件格式目前仅可在网页端使用。
IT之家注意到，谷歌在今年早些时候已经为 Gemini 加入了文件生成与下载功能，而现在用户无需退出 Gemini 应用，就能对这些文件进行修改。谷歌表示，用户可以全屏打开文档进行编辑，还能选中文件里的文本向 Gemini 提问，或是让其修改文件内容，例如选中一张表格，让 Gemini 将其转换成图表。
此前，用户就可以依托 Gemini 在谷歌 Workspace 应用中的集成能力编辑文件，比如谷歌文档里的 Gemini 侧边栏。Anthropic 今年早些时候也上线了一项功能，支持用户在 Claude 对话窗口中生成并编辑文档和演示文稿。
