Faraday Technology wins cloud AI chip design win from US customer, adopting Samsung 2nm process

In its 2026Q3 financial report, Faraday Technology announced it had won a cloud AI chip design win from a US customer, with the design process, design complexity, NRE amount and advanced packaging all setting company records. The chip is based on Samsung Foundry's 2nm process, vertically stacks a logic SoC with custom DRAM and adopts hybrid bonding, supports FP64 computing and PCIe Gen6, and the customer had originally planned to use 4nm. Faraday's 2026Q3 consolidated revenue was NT$3.66 billion, up 13% year-on-year and 11% quarter-on-quarter.
