Huawei's Jin Yuzhi: Autonomous Driving Has Higher Safety Requirements; Real-World Data Is Key to Large-Scale Commercialization

Jin Yuzhi, Senior Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Yinwang, said at the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference that the second half of intelligentization shows three major trends: the industry is moving from assisted driving to autonomous driving, autonomous driving has higher safety requirements, and it will reshape the travel paradigm. He pointed out that for assisted driving, the driver bears the ultimate responsibility for safety, while for autonomous driving, the system bears it, and building user trust with real-world data is key to large-scale commercial deployment. As of October 20, Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving had proactively avoided 6.8 million potential collisions in total, and the safe driving mileage before severe collision accidents under assisted driving was 5.75 times the average for Chinese drivers.
