Varjo announces that its XR-4 series headsets will fully shift to domestic production in Finland, with assembly to begin in January 2027

Starting in January 2027, Varjo will assemble its XR-4 series headsets at its factory in Espoo, Finland, expanding domestic manufacturing from the existing XR-4 Secure Edition to the entire product line. The company says the move is intended to reduce the risk of supply chain disruptions, and that all headsets it manufactures in Finland will comply with the requirements of the U.S. Trade Agreements Act (TAA). Varjo technology is currently used in more than 120 defense projects across NATO and allied countries.

近日，芬兰XR技术企业Varjo宣布，将于2027年把旗下XR-4系列头显的生产转移至芬兰自有制造工厂。其中，XR-4系列头显计划从2027年1月起在芬兰埃斯波（Espoo）工厂进行组装，进一步加强公司对产品制造及供应链的控制。
据了解，Varjo目前已在该工厂生产面向国防及安全领域的XR-4 Secure Edition头显。此次调整将芬兰本土制造范围扩大至整个XR-4产品系列，旨在降低供应链中断风险，并提高产品生产及交付过程的可控性。
近年来，Varjo持续拓展国防及高安全等级XR市场。公司表示，其技术目前已应用于北约及盟国的超过120个国防项目，涵盖各类专业训练与模拟场景。
Varjo表示，其XR-4系列的研发、制造及支持流程已获得ISO 27001信息安全管理体系认证。 其中，XR-4 Secure Edition还提供不含无线电组件的完全离线版本，可用于物理隔离网络及涉密环境。此外，Varjo称，未来在芬兰制造的所有头显都将符合美国《贸易协定法案》（TAA）的相关要求。
Varjo表示，旗下头显一直在芬兰完成设计与研发，此次生产转移将进一步整合从研发、产品开发、制造组装到售后支持的业务链条，为欧洲及北约市场不断增长的XR设备需求提供支持。
Varjo首席执行官Timo Toikkanen表示，市场对安全可靠、欧洲本土制造XR设备的需求正在快速增长。通过将XR-4系列生产集中至芬兰，公司希望进一步提高供应链安全性，并增强欧洲在XR技术领域的自主能力。
