Alibaba's Joseph Tsai: Only Open Source Can Drive AI Adoption; Qwen Has Open-Sourced More Than 470 Models

Joseph Tsai, Chairman of the Alibaba Group Board of Directors, said at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Internet Conference that only open source can drive AI adoption, and that open source can lower R&D costs for small and medium-sized enterprises and is especially important for developing countries. He disclosed that Qwen has open-sourced more than 470 models, with cumulative global downloads exceeding 4 billion and more than 330,000 derivative models. IT之家 11 月 3 日消息，2026 年世界互联网大会于今日（11 月 3 日）在浙江乌镇开幕。
据界面新闻报道，阿里巴巴集团联合创始人及董事会主席蔡崇信在开幕式上表示，AI 需求持续攀升，算力供不应求。他认为“只有开源才能普及”，开源能够有效降低中小企业研发成本，对发展中国家尤其重要。
蔡崇信透露，目前阿里千问已开源超过 470 款模型，全球累计下载量突破 40 亿，衍生模型超过 33 万。
IT之家注意到，蔡崇信曾预判，未来 AI 将从显性话题转为隐性基础设施。“五年后，人们可能不再单独讨论 AI，因为它将像今天的互联网一样，融入业务的每个环节。相关术语可能会随技术普及程度而演变，但 AI 作为根本性的技术突破，将持续影响商业与社会。”
蔡崇信还阐述了以阿里为代表的中国公司的 AI 开源路径。“就像一所顶尖大学会向全世界开放、为学生提供助学金一样，AI 也应该把进展开源，让更多人受益。这也源于中国公司在哲学层面的选择。”
