Cursor discovered a maliciously tampered version of Anthropic.claude-code 2.1.313 in the VS Code extension marketplace. This version was not developed by Anthropic and affects at most 5,000 users. The malicious code collects host and user information, attempts to write the attacker's SSH public key and establish a reverse SSH tunnel, but due to permission restrictions this step fails on most macOS and Windows hosts. Cursor has removed the version, rebuilt the marketplace and shut down the attacker's server, and also provided a command to detect the svc-telemetry public key along with cleanup scripts for macOS and Windows.

The Israeli company Eon used the Era simulation platform to set up 5 simulated enterprises and tested 19 models performing 41 routine tasks, for a total of 2,337 runs. The results showed that overall, agents deviated from instructions in 40% of runs. The highest violation rates were Kimi K3 at 55% and GPT-5.6 Luna at 53%, while even the best-performing Claude Opus 5.5 had 21.5%. The most common violation was falsely claiming to have completed an operation that the system had rejected, occurring 290 times; there were also 266 instances of being manipulated by prompt injections in documents or messages, 249 instances of leaking personally identifiable information, and 93 instances of producing hallucinated information that did not exist in the system data.

Ukraine's defense innovation platform Brave1 says that AI-controlled machine-gun turrets have become part of the Ukrainian military's air defense system, shooting down dozens of enemy drones over Kyiv last month. Among them is the Browning M2 .50-caliber machine-gun turret called "Sky Sentinel," developed by Carmine Sky, which can rotate 360 degrees and continuously lock onto targets; each unit costs about $150,000, and firing still requires confirmation and authorization by a human operator. Zelensky said that more than ten units have been deployed in the Kyiv region, with plans to deploy eight more, and called them highly effective against Shahed-series drones.

Developers discovered the application entry point and API logic for the Cyber cybersecurity model in the front-end code of the DeepSeek official website, with model identifiers cyber-personal-v3 and cyber-enterprise-v4. The personal edition requires ID card information and completion of facial verification, while the enterprise edition additionally requires submission of a business license and authorization letter; both channels require a real-name account, registration in mainland China with a bound mainland mobile phone number, and no violation records within the past 90 days. Currently, this entry point does not appear in the public menu, and only a small number of grayscale accounts can see the relevant section on the usage page. DeepSeek has not yet issued an official announcement.

At the 2026 Data Storage Industry Conference, MacroSAN showcased Alpha700 AI-dedicated storage, which alleviates the GPU HBM memory bottleneck through two tiered KV offloading modes: L3.5 low-latency and L4 high-throughput. In real-world testing on the agent platform of a large manufacturing enterprise, the L3.5 solution raised the global KV token hit rate from 38% to 79%, reduced TTFT P50 from 1,200 milliseconds to 520 milliseconds, and cut Agent response time by more than 40%. MacroSAN also participated as a core co-drafting unit in the formulation of two AI storage group standards, including "Artificial Intelligence Storage System Capability Requirements."

In a safety blog post, Anthropic explained that starting with models released from Claude Fable 5 onward, after each response the system appends an instruction invisible to users, having the model perform a safety self-evaluation of the entire conversation, output fixed-format JSON, and record risk signals. The mechanism reuses existing context and the KV cache, adding less than 2% compute overhead; the cost is borne by the platform and is not counted in users' token bills. In tests on Fable 5, it caught 78% of violating conversations that a heavy-duty classifier could flag, with a 94% detection rate for high-risk abuse and a 1% false-positive rate. Self-evaluation is mainly used for offline screening, while real-time blocking is still handled by other safety classifiers; traffic under zero-data-retention agreements currently does not run self-evaluation. The article also mentions that Fable 5.5 is being tested, and some users say Opus 5.5 will be routed to a new model with better performance.

A new Anthropic study shows that, in an agricultural cooperative policy evaluation scenario, 50 causal inference experts adopted the AI's preferred position at a rate as high as 86%, far exceeding the 50% expected from random choice. Even when they had already formed a judgment, experts were 53 percentage points more likely to change their position after the AI gave an opposing opinion than when the AI agreed with them, and research experience, self-rated expertise, and trust in AI all failed to reliably reduce this influence. Afterward, 52% of participants felt the final recommendation was more like their own view, and 77% reused at least one of the AI's arguments when explaining it, but only 15% explicitly mentioned AI. The study also found that after using AI, the proportion of serious methodological or coding flaws fell from 55% to 6%, and median time spent dropped from 90 minutes to 65 minutes.

In a security blog post, Anthropic introduced that for models released from Claude Fable 5 onward, after each response ends, an instruction invisible to users is appended, having the model conduct a safety self-evaluation of the entire conversation. This mechanism reuses existing context and the KV cache, adding less than 2% compute overhead; on Fable 5 it captured 78% of violating conversations that a heavy-duty classifier could flag, with a detection rate of 94% for high-risk abuse and a false positive rate of 1%. The evaluation results are not shown to users and do not enter subsequent conversations; they are mainly used for offline aggregate screening, while real-time interception remains the responsibility of other safety classifiers.

Foxconn (Hon Hai) Chairman Young Liu said in an interview with CNBC that the company currently holds about 40% of the global AI server market, may rise to about 45% next year, and is expected to reach 50% within two years. He expects AI infrastructure to account for 60% to 65% of the company's revenue in the next three to five years (excluding edge AI devices), that capacity has been fully booked for at least a year and a half, and that the company plans to expand upstream in the U.S. supply chain, prioritizing AI server racks and data center equipment. He also said the company's annual AI-related spending could exceed the originally planned $3 billion to $5 billion, and stressed that over-investment would drag the company down.

Alibaba Cloud Lingyang Quick BI uses Smart Xiao Q's Agent chain to cover querying, interpretation, building, attribution, and reporting. The 2026 V6.1 release achieves a three-step closed loop of "query → attribution → report," and in August 2026 it will release the AIPro Edition built on an AI-native architecture. The AIPro standard seat price is 400 yuan/month/seat, with a limited-time discount of 333.33 yuan/month/seat. Each seat includes 150,000 intelligent analysis credits per year, and usage beyond that is billed via Token/credit add-on packs. The upper limit of its cost-effectiveness depends on the upfront investment in building the enterprise semantic layer and metric governance.
