    Photon, which held a funeral for mobile apps, raises $4.5M seed round to replace apps with agents

    AI startup Photon has closed a $4.5 million seed round, co-led by Gradient and A*, with participation from Vercel, Sequoia China and others. The company helps developers build agents on messaging platforms such as iMessage and WhatsApp, and has attracted more than 40,000 developers to sign up, with revenue growing 10x in four months and message volume up 5x last month.     Cerebras: Why Looping Agents Can't Do Without Verifiers

    The Cerebras blog points out that the key to looping agents is not autonomy but verifiability, and uses Gemma 4 running a visual feedback loop on Cerebras as an example: each iteration generates a new STEP file in about 1.2 seconds, at a speed of about 1,500 tokens/second, and after the loop autonomously rewrites the prompt about 5 times, it completes the CAD instruction to clone an object from a photo. The article also warns that the loop can spin idle when the goal is unclear, or be exploited by the model when the prompt is vague.
