Musk said on X that Counterpoint Research's forecast for humanoid robot DRAM demand is "absurd analysis," and said robot RAM demand will surpass that of every other application on Earth. Counterpoint expects DRAM per unit to rise from the current 19GB to 39GB by 2030, with total demand growing from about 8,300TB in 2026 to about 172,000TB in 2030, an increase of about 20 times; analysts estimate that at an annual Optimus output of 10 million units and 72GB per unit, about 720PB of LPDDR would be needed per year.

Rohan Paul, citing a Bloomberg chart, states that Anthropic's revenue in the first half of 2026 is nearly 400 times its full-year 2023 revenue, and no other company in the chart comes close to this multiple. Nvidia, with the second-fastest growth, remained below 50 times throughout its first three years before going public, while Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft and SpaceX essentially stayed near the 1x baseline. Anthropic's full-year 2025 revenue was about 100 times that of 2023, so its revenue in just six months of 2026 was about 4 times its full-year 2025 revenue.

The TripleTen survey shows that the tech industry leads in AI adoption, with finance close behind: 48% of finance professionals have been asked to use AI chatbots, and 32% have been asked to automate part of their workflows; healthcare stands at 18% and education at 25%. 79% of respondents have been asked to learn at least one new skill, but only 30% of managers consider judging whether AI output is right or wrong absolutely essential. Among employee-led AI innovations, 88% became standard company practice.

Anthropic claims that the Claude model completed a formal verification of Fermat's Last Theorem within 11 days, and OpenAI also claims that an agent cracked the Navier-Stokes equations within 88 hours. However, 25 Fields Medalists jointly pointed out that merely pursuing answers does not benefit scientific progress. On September 13, at the Pujiang Innovation Forum, scholars held that mathematical breakthroughs are not surprising, while the life sciences and materials science are constrained by measurement and verification, and AI has not yet become the key to breakthroughs.

Benjamin Chislett, an engineer at NVIDIA CentML, used a 12,000-line Megakernel written in CuTe DSL to optimize Moonshot AI's Kimi K3 inference. The vLLM blog reports over 840 tokens/s at batch 1 and a 1.5x to 2x increase in decoding throughput across multiple configurations, while SemiAnalysis estimates 423 tok/s/user on GB300 NVL72, a 1.68x improvement. The vLLM blog says agent-optimized inference code is now outpacing human review and maintenance speed, so the team proposed a fast-track model optimization RFC that lets reviewers judge designs from high-level abstractions rather than reviewing code line by line. The article also mentions that NVIDIA is developing optimizations for other models for vLLM, such as DeepSeek V4.1.

Greg Casar, chair of the U.S. Democratic progressive caucus, said that if Democrats win a House majority in next week's elections, he will push for strict scrutiny of AI labs and summon big AI company CEOs to testify at hearings, without ruling out using subpoenas to compel their attendance. Previously, on October 29, Casar and 19 other Democrats sent a letter to OpenAI demanding a response regarding the dismissal of three safety researchers; OpenAI said the personnel decisions were unrelated to the safety concerns raised.

French company Mistral AI has released the Large 4 model (ML4), featuring advanced coding and cyber defense capabilities; enterprises can download the open-weight version and deploy it to run on their own infrastructure. The model has a total of 1.05 trillion parameters, with approximately 52 billion parameters actually activated per task execution, and was trained in a European data center using 3,800 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs. Mistral claims it is comparable to other leading open models on coding tasks and emphasizes that open source helps prevent frontier AI technology from concentrating in the hands of a few players.

Toyota and Waymo announced that their autonomous driving cooperation has entered its next phase, with initial testing and validation of a Toyota bZ4X autonomous fleet to begin in Japan in 2027, followed by expansion to the UK and other Waymo operating markets over the following years. The vehicles will be produced at Toyota's Takaoka Plant in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, with everything from complete vehicle assembly to the integration of Waymo's autonomous driving hardware completed at the same plant. Waymo co-CEO Dmitri Dolgov said that in Waymo's operating areas, its rate of serious injury crashes is up to 20 times lower than that of human drivers.

Aaron Levie posted that the gap between those currently using AI at the frontier and everyone else is almost incomprehensible, and that this gap curve is not converging but instead continuously widening; the AI progress curve is nearly vertical, and processes solidified 3-6 months ago may already be outdated. Elon Musk quoted the post and replied with just one word: "True".
Alphabet's third-quarter earnings fell short of expectations across the board, with search and other revenue up 12% year over year to about $63 billion, missing expectations for a second consecutive quarter, while search query volume growth was the highest in five years. Search revenue growth slowed from 19% in the first quarter to 17% in the second quarter and then to 12% this quarter, with the company citing exchange rates as the biggest factor. The stock fell about 13% on Thursday after the earnings release, its largest one-day drop on record, and free cash flow for the quarter was negative $9 billion. Cloud revenue doubled to nearly $31 billion, with cloud backlog of about $560 billion.

A user said that Amazon banned their Grok Bot, and the Bot instead bought the same item from another website at a lower price. Musk responded that he does the same thing, telling @Bot to go elsewhere to buy at a lower price.
Rime has released Prism, a speech-to-speech model for AI voice agents that writes every reply as text before speaking. Enterprises can edit the transcript and block things the agent should not say, while Prism keeps the call uninterrupted and can look up accounts or freeze cards during the conversation. Rime says no other speech-to-speech model takes this approach, making Prism better suited to regulated enterprises such as banks.
