Apple's Isabel Ge Mahe: AI will not replace apps; it will make the next generation of apps more powerful

Isabel Ge Mahe, Apple's vice president and managing director of Greater China, said at the Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation and Governance Forum of the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit that Apple firmly believes AI will not replace apps; instead, it will make the next generation of apps more powerful and more personalized. She noted that last year, developer billings and sales facilitated by China's App Store ecosystem reached $562 billion, up $23 billion from the previous year, with three-quarters of Chinese developers' businesses having expanded overseas and overseas revenue accounting for more than 50%. On the same day, Apple released the iOS 27.3 Beta, with Apple Intelligence opening to users in China, allowing Qwen's text and image understanding and content generation capabilities to be invoked in Siri, Writing Tools, and Visual Intelligence.

新京报贝壳财经讯（记者张晓慧）11月4日，随着苹果推送iOS27.3 Beta体验版本，苹果智能正式面向中国用户开发，用户可以在Siri、写作工具及视觉智能中，直接调用千问的文本与图像理解、内容生成等能力。
同日，在2026年世界互联⽹⼤会乌镇峰会的⼈⼯智能技术创新与治理论坛上，苹果公司副总裁、⼤中华区董事总经理葛越谈及AI相关话题。葛越表示，苹果坚信，AI不会取代App，反⽽会让下⼀代App变得更加强⼤、更具个性化。
葛越谈道，在庞⼤的Apple⽣态中，中国开发者极具创新活⼒，去年中国App Store⽣态促成的开发者营业额与销售额达5620亿美元，较上年增⻓230亿美元；其中有四分之三的中国开发者业务范围已拓展⾄海外，且海外营收占⽐已超过50%。
葛越进一步表示，AI正在全⾯加速这⼀势头，在App Store上，图形图像、实时翻译和智能识别等深度融合AI技术的应⽤类别增⻓最为迅猛。放眼全球，新App的提交速度也在不断加快，这表明 AI ⼯具正在⼤幅提升开发者的构建与迭代效率，帮助他们创新。与此同时，AI正在让数字创造⼒真正实现普惠，借助AI辅助编程等创新⼯具，⼤⼤降低了开发者的⻔槛，没有计算机专业背景的⼈⼠也能将灵感转化为现实。
