Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has been awarded the Order of Culture. At a press conference in Kyoto, he said he hopes to accept the award as a representative of his many co-creators. Speaking about generative AI, he distinguished between conceiving intent and completing the work, arguing that as AI takes on more of the work, creators need even more to think about what true creation is. He also advised young developers to return to the starting point of "what would be fun" and to establish new gameplay.
