Qualcomm said on Oct. 21 that it showcased the results of its support for South Korean artificial intelligence (AI) startups at Industrial AI Expo 2026, being held at KINTEX in Ilsan through Oct. 23.
Qualcomm established a dedicated exhibition area called the QAIPI Pavilion for companies participating in the Qualcomm AI Innovators Program (QAIPI). The pavilion aims to showcase technologies developed by Korean startups using Qualcomm platforms and support their market entry.
Launched in 2025, QAIPI-APAC is a startup support program for the Asia-Pacific region. Participating companies receive access to Qualcomm AI Hub, a platform that optimizes AI computing models for specific devices, along with technical resources, training and expert guidance.
Six startups are participating in the pavilion: ENERZAi, WITHROBOT, Undermilli, CLIKA and Plaid Labs, which were selected for QAIPI-APAC this year, and Sagak, selected last year. Five industrial and embedded (IE)-IoT partners, which integrate communication and control functions into specific equipment, also established booths. They include ICBanQ, Sapphire Stream Technology Korea, Access Lab, MathWorks and OSCO.
At the Qualcomm Robotics Zone, operated by OSCO, participating companies demonstrated collaborative technologies for industrial equipment and automotive applications. Rainbow Robotics unveiled a quadruped robot equipped with Qualcomm’s Dragonwing IQ-9075, a high-performance industrial computing chip. Automotive parts supplier SL showcased an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) equipped with the Arduino VENTUNO Q, a compact computer board, enabling it to perceive its surroundings and navigate autonomously.
Qualcomm is expanding its presence in the industrial automation market through computing technologies that improve processing speeds while reducing power consumption, on-device AI that processes AI workloads directly on devices, and communication technologies. The company will also hold QAIPI-APAC 2026 Demo Day in Tokyo, Japan, on Dec. 2.
“As AI spreads across industries, the ability to apply innovative technologies in real-world environments and commercialize them is becoming increasingly important,” said Kim Sang-pyo, president of Qualcomm Korea. “Through QAIPI, Qualcomm will support startups from technology development through commercialization and collaborate with Korean companies to help them create new growth opportunities in global markets.”
