Kolon Benit announced on Oct. 13 that it held the second annual Kolon Benit AX Boost Summit 2026 at Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, where it unveiled a six-step artificial intelligence (AI) transformation (AX) strategy aimed at turning corporate AI adoption into tangible business results.
In his opening remarks, Kolon Benit Chief Executive Officer Kang Yi-gu said companies need to redesign existing workflows to overcome the plateau in results that often follows the initial stages of AI technology training and validation.
Kang emphasized the importance of combining industry-specific expertise with proven AI technologies. He said the company would leverage an ecosystem of more than 100 AI partners to support customers from identifying business challenges and building systems to generating measurable results.
Jang Jae-yong, head of Kolon Benit’s digital transformation (DX) division, delivered a keynote address titled “From AI-Adopting Companies to AI-Performing Companies.”
Jang cited several obstacles preventing companies from realizing the benefits of AI, including selecting projects disconnected from business objectives, fragmented data, poor integration with existing business systems, and inadequate operating frameworks.
To address these challenges, he outlined a six-step AX methodology: selecting three to five priority projects, building infrastructure, redesigning workflows, driving organizational change, measuring results, and establishing ongoing operations.
The company also presented examples of AI delivering measurable results. Hong Seong-hwa, head of the AX Innovation Center at Kolon Industries, said the company had applied AI agents to automate shipping documentation, cutting processing time per case to five seconds from four hours. He also said a system using vision AI achieved 99.8% classification accuracy.
SK AX, Seowoo Industrial, and Seowoo Advanced Materials also presented corporate AI transformation cases. Kim Dae-sik, a professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), delivered a lecture on literacy and leadership in the era of artificial general intelligence (AGI).
In the afternoon, the event featured 17 sessions across three tracks: data analytics, AX implementation, and enterprise services. Key topics included autonomous operations in manufacturing, integrated management of AI agents, AI applications in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and human resources automation.
“AX success is determined not by which technology a company adopts, but by what changes at the customer’s workplace,” Kang said.
