Google Launches Universal Shopping Cart in the US
Google 开始在美国的 Google Search 和 Gemini 应用中推出 Universal Cart，该功能最早于 5 月的 I/O 开发者大会公布。它基于 Google 的 Shopping Graph（追踪互联网上超过 600 亿条商品信息），并使用 Google Pay 和 Universal Commerce Protocol（UCP）完成结账，用户可保存来自多个零售商的商品、跟踪价格与库存变化，Google Wallet 集成还会根据已保存卡片的权益提示潜在优惠。结账时用户可用 Google Pay 支付，也可将商品转入支持商家的购物车，Nike、Sephora、Target、Ulta Beauty、Walmart、Wayfair 及众多 Shopify 商家为支持伙伴，商家仍是销售记录方并提供确认与客服。该功能在美国假日购物季前开始推送，其他市场上线时间未公布。

Google is starting to roll out the Universal Cart it first announced at its I/O developer conference in May. The new feature is coming first to Google Search and the Gemini app in the US, where it will allow users to save products from multiple retailers, keep track of discounts, and more when they’re shopping online using Google services.
This Universal Cart leverages Google’s Shopping Graph, which tracks over 60 billion product listings on the Internet, and it also uses Google Pay and the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) for checkout. In practice, users can add products from various retailers across the web to their cart, get updates on pricing and inventory changes, and the Google Wallet integration will also surface hidden savings based on saved cards’ perks.
When Google Search and Gemini users are ready to pay for items in their Universal Cart, they can proceed with Google Pay. However, they can also transfer their items directly to supported merchants’ carts to complete their purchases. Google mentioned Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair, and many Shopify merchants as supported partners. “Either way, you will receive direct confirmations and customer support from the merchant, and they will remain the seller of record,” the company explained.
Google is starting to roll out this Universal Cart in the US right when the holiday shopping season is about to kick off. There’s no word yet on when it will become available in other markets.
