HomeView
Apple today officially unveiled its new HomeView smart display. HomeView features a 7-inch square display and comes in two versions: one with a speaker base and another for wall mounting.
You can pre-order HomeView today for $299. It will start arriving to customers on November 13.
Here’s everything you need to know about HomeView.
Apple HomeView: Features, specs, price, and more
HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display that’s connected to a domed speaker base with a stainless steel hinge with tilt support. The display features Apple’s True Tone technology and 500 nits of brightness. It can also dim to 0.3 nits, making it great for a nightstand.
There’s also a separate wall-mounted version of HomeView. This model can be “attached to a wall using three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home, with options for self-installation or professional installation.”
Here are the details on those wall-mounting options from Apple:
HomeView (Wall Mounted) will be available with a choice of three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home. Power Mount USB‑C Wall Connector, available starting at $59.95 (U.S.), and Power Mount AC Wired, available starting at $79.95 (U.S.), can be ordered starting today from apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app. Power Mount PoE Wired will be available starting in early 2027 for $129.95 (U.S.).
Apple says the HomeView interface will intelligently adjust based on how far away you are. It will show “simpler information that’s viewable from across the room” as well as “richer detail” as you step closer.
HomeView can also recognize up to six different people and deliver a “personalized experience” for each one. This includes a personalized Home Screen with apps and widgets. “Personal content stays private from others, while shared photo albums and music can be easily enjoyed by everyone in a household, including guests,” Apple says.
There is a collection of “playful and informative” faces for HomeView:
Users can personalize HomeView with a collection of playful and informative faces that display information at a glance, taking full advantage of the vibrant Liquid Retina display. The Photos face brings cherished memories to life with stunning Portrait-style depth effects that keep the subject sharp while creating a beautifully blurred foreground and background.
By selecting a shared album, users can turn HomeView into a living photo frame that loved ones near and far can help fill. The Flow face dynamically responds to physical presence and movement, transforming HomeView into a piece of interactive art. And even Snoopy comes to life on HomeView, with animations that reflect the time of day, the weather, sporting events, and holiday moments.
HomeView supports Siri AI. Apple says that users with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad can tap into personal context. Users without an Apple Intelligence-capable device can still use Siri AI on HomeView for world knowledge and music discovery.
For audio quality, Apple says HomeView has a “custom-engineered acoustic system” with two full-range drivers in the display, plus a down-firing woofer and two force-canceling passive radiators.
Here are some more HomeView tidbits:
It has a Center Stage camera for FaceTime calls; There’s a “Home Modular” face that gives easy access to smart home accessories. The “Home Camera” face can livestream up to nine video feeds at once; HomeView isn’t available in the European Union because Siri AI isn’t available there either. Apple says it is “working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward.”
The table-top version of HomeView is available in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray. The wall-mounted version is available in space gray and silver. You can pre-order both today for $299, with availability beginning November 13.
