HCLTech has launched an AI-powered verification and validation (V&V) offering for automotive software, built on NVIDIA’s simulation technologies and AI models. The offering targets vehicle manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers developing software-defined vehicles.
The offering links requirements, test creation and execution, failure analysis, and compliance reporting across the validation process.
The company identified fragmented toolchains, manual testing workflows and labour-intensive compliance processes as challenges in validating increasingly complex vehicle software, particularly as automakers roll out over-the-air updates.
According to HCLTech, the system uses NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos, Alpamayo, Omniverse NuRec and Isaac Sim to generate and test scenarios in virtual environments, including rare and safety-critical conditions. The company said this could reduce reliance on physical testing and expand scenario coverage.
The offering also uses NVIDIA’s Agent Toolkit to coordinate multiple AI agents, with reasoning powered by NVIDIA Nemotron open models. HCLTech said the agents are designed to support different stages of validation while maintaining links between requirements, test results and compliance records.
The announcement did not disclose customer deployments or quantified reductions in testing time and costs.
“Automotive software is evolving faster than traditional validation processes were designed to handle,” said Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head, Mobility at HCLTech. He pointed to frequent software updates, complex vehicle systems and changing configurations as factors that make validation difficult to scale.
NVIDIA’s Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA Industry Lead Automotive Enterprise, said simulation could help automakers test safety-critical scenarios earlier in development.
“Validation now sets the pace for software-defined vehicles,” Scheurle said.
On October 12, HCLTech announced a global partnership with Anthropic to integrate Claude and Claude Code into its engineering workflows and selected enterprise software products.
